Natural cures/treatment for complex ovarian cyst?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I went to my ob/gyn yesterday, and he said I have a complex ovarian cyst the size of a softball on my right ovary. I’ve had some pain with it lately (backaches mostly) and am now really worried. I had to get a CA 125 blood test yesterday. I don’t have the results yet. I have to make an apt with a gyn oncologist today. Have any of you went through this and found any natural cures that do not require surgery, pills, etc? I am all for herbal treatment or diet change. I am just nervous about surgery or other pills. I want to have another baby and am scared this is going to affect my fertility.

A lot of women with ovarian cysts have been able to get pregnant – in many cases it will not interfere with conception, although each case is different & it does depend on the type of cyst.

Conventional medicine has really only 3 approaches to treating ovarian cysts – wait and see (& hope that it goes away itself), birth control pills, or surgery. All 3 options fail to address the underlying cause of the cyst, which means that even if it does go away (or is removed) it is quite likely to come back again.

Personally I believe in the holistic treatment approach for ovarian cysts. It’s totally natural, and addresses issues such as diet, your metabolism, and your hormones. If you can get these right, you will get rid of your cyst naturally and forever, without the need for drugs or surgery.

There’s a good site below with articles and more information. Hope this helps, and good luck.

What should I do if I think I might have an ovarian cyst?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I have a really sharp pain in my lower left abdominal area, it started during sex and it’s been two days now, and it’s still pretty intense. I’ve just been taking pain killers so I can deal with it, I’m hoping it will pass because I don’t have insurance. From eveything I’ve read and talking to people, I’m thinking it might be an ovarian cyst, has anyone had this? Can it just go away?
I went to the ER, they ruled out anything critical, including ovarian cysts. I still have the pretty intese pain, they gave me pain killers and told me to go see my doctor, which I don’t have becuase I don’t have insurance!

When I was 20, I had a fairly large ovarian cyst. I figured "no big deal. I’ll just get it removed". Well I had the surgery only they didn’t remove the cyst. They sewed it open so that it wouldn’t occur again. Then, the summer I turned 23, I got really really sick. It lasted off and on for about 6 months or more. People were asking me if I was pregnant and everything. Finally I got so sick that I could barely walk. I thought maybe it was a UTI, as dumb as that sounds. But because I get them frequently, it wouldn’t be unheard of. So, my boyfriend at the time took me to the ER and they admitted me for testing. About a week after that, I had an MRI and they told me I had an extremely large mass in my abdomen. They transferred me to a larger hospital and in two days, we found out through surgery, that since I had let the pain go on for so long, that 2 abnormally huge cysts had grown on my ovary and had also grown into my intestinal wall. The surgeon had to remove the cysts as well as one of my ovaries. The kicker of the whole long story is this: two years before my surgery, I had to go in for an MRI and the doctor told me that I had a very tiny cyst on my ovary and that I wasn’t to worry because most women do develop cysts during their menstrual cycle that will or may burst either during or after their period.
Ok, I know I have been long winded and I apologize. But if you are that concerned about your pain being an ovarian cyst, then you should really at least try to go to planned parenthood to get it checked out. Most of the time, planned parenthood either accepts donations for their services or they have a sliding scale fee system that goes by your income. There may be someone that they could refer you to that could find out for sure what you are experiencing and the treatment for it.

Can I wear a tampon if i have two ovarian cysts?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I have two ovarian cysts, I found out 4-5 days ago and I’m now on my period. Can I put in a tampon?

yes.
The ovaries aren’t anywheres near where your tampon will be.
Your tampons in the vagina…there’s no possible way it can get to the ovaries.
You’ll be fine.
I hate cyst. :(
Mine hurt when i get them.

is there a good birth control that can shrink my two ovarian cyst without going thru surgery?

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

i have two ovarian cyst. one in each ovari. i’m also dying to have kids. i have been trying for a couple of months now. but my DR told me if need to get pregnant right away i have to get them removed after 3 months of lepron depot. i have heard about the symptoms of Lepron. my cyst are about 5cm. please help me i’m soooo desperate to have kids.

i used to get ovarian cysts all the time. i’ve been on orthocyclen for 6 years and havent had any since. my doctor said that kind is really good for cysts. however i never had ones as large as yours. plus if youre planning on getting pregnant why do you want to be on the pill? it can take a few months for the pill to have the desired effect. i would just ask your doctor if there are any other options.

Does anyone know anything about ovarian cysts?

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

My friend was recently diagnosed with ovarian cysts. She started bleeding today, but she has some pain in her lower stomach. Not extreme pain, but only some. Does anyone know what that means? Or if it’s normal?

Hey, I had two ovarian cysts, 1 four years a go and 1 two years ago. they were causing me o bleed also, and they were causing me pain to. the easiest way to deal with them(according to me) is to just get them removed. it depends on how big they are. mine were kinda big, so i had them removed with surgery. there are other ways you can remove them though, like with a pill or or a lazer or something… but that’s all i know. good luck!

Can an ovarian cyst cause your basal body temperature to stay elevated?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

I was wondering if an ovarian cyst can cause your basal body temperature to stay elevated as if you were pregnant, this is my second day late and my body temperature is still elevated but I don’t want to take a pregnancy test for another couple days and I recently found out that I have an ovarian cyst. The rest of my body is saying that I might be pregnant I even have a high soft and closed cervix. Has anyone experienced this and had a positive pregnancy test later on?

It depends on what KIND of cyst it is. If it’s a functioning cyst that is pumping out progesterone, then absolutely it would keep your period away and keep your temps elevated. You might have to just test to figure it out.

Good luck.

Does Fibrocystic Breat Disease and ovarian cysts have any kind of relation to each other?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

I have had FBD since my early teens, and now I am 18 and I have had two ovarian cysts(that I know of within the last 3 months) rupture. Is there any kind of relation between these two conditions? and could this effect my fertility?

No not in relations…Bra Cancer is much different and it is a cancer as far as I know cancer is malignant and damage is done on normal cells as Cancer feeds off the body to be a over growth of cells and the cells are accepted by the body not as foe but as friend yet the cancer feeds until is uses up the good of the body and rots…
So far in my recent diagnosis of fibroids…It is not cancerous and at any time fibrois appear..due to being obese as a feature in Black Women more…durring 40′s and women who have not had children and are close to menopausal stages the fibroids will dry up…The body is making one last big bang…stage is set to give yourself a chance or one last call before closing time the fibroids can be treated with drugs or removed by lazer and healing time is 2 to 3 days on a treatment…Total removal of the lining by historectomy will remove the area only responsible for the growth and rinder you unable to have children…even the treatment says no children stage…It can be avoided the idea is to prolong your female hormones nature given and not rush into menopause
A Pause for the Men…I understand that The Big S is still on and Poppin…Either Way…You are quite young for this so look to speed up having your children …Tell the doctor children are a option in your future…You can still have a baby soon…Cover the basis legal…Marrage if the Guy agrees is a better option than child support or welfare or with your parents help….for you it is possible..option.
Take care to be here for a long time unless you bleed heavy and unless you are in pain You can live with fibroids for a long time and not have a problem and they grow slow so you have plenty of time to see how you are going to proceed
Not many doctors will tell you anything you have to be a big vigulanty on the web and look up sources.
Web MD and Fibroids section of Yahoo was a big brace for me.
Details even the National NDCC will send you a book for free
booklet…
I would read about MS and Fibroids and as I turn 40..I go for a checkup and the doctor finds things and I thought I was the picture of health to me … Overly healthy in a way the fibroids do not hurt me until they started ultrasounding and picking with them in test…I am looking at option of hystorectomy..I want this as a last resort…Kind of thanking God I have options
Lazar…Emoblization…Therapy Support Groups…I am not going to give up and give in without a fight…While I still have God and a great fight in me to try to live…
I heard on the radio One woman said it is common and she can feel hers being fed if she drinked sweet tea or fried chicken…I too feel to cut of the source of it being fed and it will need to die or fall out or burn out or cut out …Idea it is genetics and it will come back and case out other areas…
I have a big choice to make even with the doctors I feel I got to answer to God for myself…I lay on MRI tables thinking of the people before me and after me….The times in church when they said to prepare for times like these in your health with your faith …I am not going to give up on God and I wonder about what must I face to be saved…What must I give up to be saved…A man on the Radio said You do not know what you must give up to be saved in this race for life.. Or how what you are going to face will be a great help to others going through on the journey…So I made a decision to follow Christ example…and I figure he gave up his life ….for us and many of us can not face what he faced for us. He ask for so little to live right and some of us can not even face living right and following the so called rules and staying off Jerry and Maurry…It seems like nothing happens to them…They just mess up a poor innocent baby…and have to work harder to make a great life come for the child…

My mom just got diagnosed with advanced Ovarian Cancer, She is starting treatment soon. Any food suggestions?

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

I’ve heard that there are some foods or remedies that may be of help. Anyone have any ideas? I heard Green tea is good & so is apple cider vinegar. Any good food & helpful remedies appreciated. Thank you.

If you want your mother to get better, then ignore everything you’ve ever read or heard suggesting that you can "treat" cancer with certain foods, because it is all bogus nonsense designed to sell books.

Green tea is a rich natural source of fluoride, which most of the people telling you cancer can be treated with food will tell you is a poison. Apple cider vinegar won’t do you any harm, but again its "popularity" was created by someone trying to sell a book.

Your mother needs either surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or a combination thereof…she should take advice from an oncologist, not a "natural remedies" quack.

You would not DREAM (I hope!) of trying to treat a broken leg with Green tea, apple cider vinegar, or magic Egyptian beans….why would it even cross your mind that you could effectively treat cancer with anything other than actual medicine?

Best wishes to your Mom, she’ll be fine if she follows her doctor(s)’ advice!

are oral contraceptives more effective against reducing the risk of ovarian cysts than nuva ring?

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

I have a cyst on my ovary and I have heard that taking birth control pills helps with ovarian cysts. Does the Nuva Ring not do this?

I don’t know about the Nuva ring, but I JUST asked my doctor about this a week ago.

He said if I continued to take my pill I would probably never have the problem, as the pill prevents them from developing.
