What kind of treatment has anyone gotten for an extremely painful cyst and was is worth it? Please help me I have one and I want it gone I’m in so much pain I have to go to a pain clinic to manage it.
I appeciate the info given but I guess I’m looking for something that will leave my ovary right where it is. I don’t have any children yet and I know for sure that I want to have them. I know there are other alternatives but I would much rather try the natural way first.

I am recently got married. My age is 25 years. I have been detected dermoid cyst (5.4×4.5 cm) three months back. Is sex can be the cause of my cyst because uptil now I have not reached orgasm. DOctor has given me the option of surgery. In the worst scenario my right ovary can be removed… will i be able to conceive with one ovary…. Please help friends… I also want to be a MOM…

I have a cyst on my right ovary and I was wondering what the treatment options were. My husband and I would like to try and have a baby before he deploys. I am 18 years old and am having some insane issues. My birth control is supposed to give me a period every three months, but mine randomly came a month and a half early. It hurt so terribly bad that I told my mom I needed to go to the doctor. I was (and still am) writhing in pain constantly and throwing up and all the pain medicine in the world still doesnt make it bearable. We went to the gynecologist the other day, and he said he thought it was a ruptured cyst, and that I was throwing up because blood had seeped into my stomach. He told us to get am ultrasound and then call him. Well the lady at the front desk didn’t schedule us until a week later, but my mom made her move it up as much as possible, which is tomorrow.

The pain isn’t ending, it hurts so bad that I cannot move at times. From what I’ve seen online, the treatments seem as if I wouldn’t recover from them quickly at all, and that this may be a rough road.

I just wanted to know if any of you have had experience and what happened and what you’re recover was like.

I’m scared to death. Please, any input is helpful input.

My best friends mom had one rupture. I know it is scary (having my own scare now) but ovarian cysts are kind of common my dr. says. Once they get the rupture under control the pain meds should help you. You may have an infection in which case they would start you on antibiotics immediately after your ultrasound. From what I understand, once you get diagnosed they can start treating it for real and you should have some relief.

If they’re big enough, the doc can feel it during an exam. Then the doc will order an ultrasound and can see it on the ultrasound. For ovarian cysts, the doc will usually do an internal ultrasound–the ultrasound wand is put in your vagina. It’s easier to see small things that way. But for something large, then the doc will do an external ultrasound (on your belly) like they do for pregnant women.

For ovarian cysts, there are 3 things possible to do:
1) nothing–wait and see if it goes away on its own
2) birth control pills–see if they make it go away
3) surgery to remove the cyst

Sometimes cysts interfere with pregnancy, sometimes not. Depends on the type of cyst. Sometimes when removing the cyst, the ovary must be removed too. But you can be fertile with just one ovary.

For uterine fibroids, there are several possibilities. They will never go away on their own.
1) uterine artery embolization (UAE)–a relatively new procedure to non-surgically shrink the fibroid so it goes away, via blocking the artery supplying it with blood.
2) surgery to remove the fibroid only–called myomectomy
3) hysterectomy
With UAE, you can remain fertile. With hysterectomy, you won’t be fertile anymore. And having a fibroid can interfere with carrying pregnancy.
