I took a pregnancy test today and it came back positive, but I think I might have ovarian cyst’s. Could I possibly have a false positive?

No, ovarian cysts do not cause a false positive.

Anyway, you don’t know for a fact that you have ovarian cysts. You do know for a fact that you got a positive pregnancy test. If I were in your shoes, I’d consider myself pregnant.

I am 16, and have recently found out that I have a 13x9x7 dermoid ovarian cyst.
What should I expect from the gynecologist? I have never been to one before, so I am a bit nervous.

It really does depend on the gynaecologist you see. When I was admitted into hospital because of the pain of my dermoid cystic mass, she did a pelvic exam and a pap smear. I was 17 years old. Then I had an appointment with another gynaecologist and he didn’t do anything. He just spoke to me and told me he wanted to do surgery to remove it which I had at the end of June. He may or may not do an internal exam, but if he knows the measurements and exactly what type of cyst it is and all your symptoms, that enough will be able to help him determine the next step. Can a ruptured ovarian cyst cause a late or missed period?

Two days before my period was due, I had to go to the hospital bc an ovarian cyst i didnt know i had ruptured. Friday was one week since it happened. On sunday morning i had some cramps but no period.

Can this cause me to miss a period? They took a urine sample AND did an external and internal ultrasound. Wouldnt they have seen if i was pregnant?

When i was 13 (im 15 now) i got an ovarian cyst on my left ovary. It was pretty big and it got twisted around 3 times. I never had any symptoms except for one morning i got up before school and i just had a really sharp pain. I had surgery the next morning to remove it. Well for me it starts out as a dull ache around my pubic bone. The pain intensifies as the cyst grows bigger. I also notice the pain more as I relieve my bladder as it relieves the pressure on the cyst itself. I also get a very upset stomach for weeks at a time.

How exactly does an ovarian cyst cause infertility? From my understanding, someone who has an ovarian cyst cant release an egg during ovulation, which makes it impossible for egg and sperm to meet.
