I went to the doctors on the 5th because i was having bad pelvic pain. I found out that i have an ovarian cyst. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what symptoms i can expect to feel when the cyst ruptures?
Well, it is pretty obvious that "Captain Obvious" has never had an ovarian cyst burst, because if she had, she would have told you it hurts more than you can possibly imagine. I’ve had two rupture, and dang!, it’s crippling. Seriously. My doctor told me that most women end up in the emergency room because the pain is so intense. Oh, yeah, it’s possible that the cyst will not burst, but if it’s hurting now, and with every cycle the pain gets worse, then prepare yourself…it’s gonna pop, and you are gonna hurt. Afterwards, you’ll have some fullness in your abdomen, water, slushy feeling. And if you are really lucky, it won’t happen again.
you wont know. all women have ovarian cysts. they come and go, and at the most youll feel a little ache in your side

When mine ruptured, I had been going about the day feeling fine and then I suddenly had such a sharp pain, that I had to squat on the floor until I could get up long enough to get to the couch. Any sort of movement caused extreme sharp pain over the area and down towards my vagina. It even hurt to use the bathroom. I didn’t know that I even had a cyst, so we headed to the ER. They gave me Vicotin for the pain. I was down for a couple of days, but it eventually eased up. I don’t know if this is the normal experience or not…I hope not! Not every cyst ruptures. Most cysts just go away on their own.

That depends on what sort of cyst you have, and how big it is. I assure you, it will be painful regardless, but the bigger it is the worse the pain will be. On the upside, if they identified the cyst and have decided that it’s best for it to run its course, it won’t kill you. ^-^
It could also drain on its own. This is what you’ll want to go for; not that you have much control over it, but all the same… Perhaps avoid rigorous activities that might induce a rupture? Unless it’s so small that a rupture would be better than risking it getting bigger… If it does disappear on its own, though, you won’t know when it happens, and it will be relatively pain-free. Save for the pain you’re already experiencing, of course. But it shouldn’t get worse. If it just disappears.
