are oral contraceptives more effective against reducing the risk of ovarian cysts than nuva ring?

I have a cyst on my ovary and I have heard that taking birth control pills helps with ovarian cysts. Does the Nuva Ring not do this?

I don’t know about the Nuva ring, but I JUST asked my doctor about this a week ago.

He said if I continued to take my pill I would probably never have the problem, as the pill prevents them from developing.
