Can ovarian cysts keep you from getting your period?

I have ovarian cysts (i’m not sure how many–the E.R from a Ct. Scan said quite a few) I haven’t had my period since at least November. Is it really bad that I haven’t been getting it? (I’m not pregnant, I’ve taken a few tests). And would I possibly need surgery since it MAY be affecting my period?
Do you think I may need to have surgery?

Yes, an ovarian cysts can interfere with periods – you might have a period just every other month.

Don’t rely solely on over-the-counter pregnancy tests. Have you been sexually active, and do you have any other symptoms of pregnancy? i.e., unexplained nausea (whether morning or any other time of day), tender breasts, etc. I didn’t worry about irregular periods, because I knew I had an ovarian cyst; the baby I turned out to be carrying is 27 now.

Do see a gynecologist. Ovarian cysts can rupture. Although surgery is a possibility, the gynecologist might have non-surgical recommendations, as well.

Yes they can especially if you have PCOS.
You may need to have a laproscopic procedure to remove the cysts so your ovaries can function normally again, you should do this as soon as possible.
